Course Description

Ethnic studies is a course that provides a safe academic space for all to learn the histories, cultures, and academic traditions of Native Peoples and communities of color in the U.S. and practice theories of resistance and liberation to eliminate racism and other forms of oppression.
 

Learning Targets/Courselong Skill Objectives: 

LT1: Explain and understand the significance of particular historical events to Native Peoples and communities of color in the United States. 

LT2: Explain and understand the core tenets and language of the field of Ethnic Studies. 

LT3: Engage in community grounded praxis. In other words, apply the historical context and tools of Ethnic Studies within your community and everyday life.
